Adachi Tomomi Royal Chorus was a group called “punk choir/choir without harmony” was founded by Adachi in 1997 for Music Merge Festival. The premiere included a guest performer, Martin Tétreault. 5-10 fluid members were amateur musician, composer, film director and actors, never involved professional vocalists. They had performed exclusively vocal ensemble pieces without pitch indications, mainly Adachi’s original compositions, also some from members and works by TAKAHASHI Yuji, NAKAZAWA Hideki and WONO Satoru. The concept of the group was inspired by Scratch Orchestra by Cornelius Cardew, Punk/New Wave (especially No wave) and the tradition of sound poetry. The group was active until 2002, the last performance was for NHK TV.

The group released two CDs, Yo and Nu.
